Job summary

Elix Sourcing Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our specialist consultancy delivering turnkey process machinery for regulated sectors.

Based in Lutterworth, Leicestershire, the role combines design, fabrication and on-site deployment across projects with UK and international travel. You will work with senior engineers to take ownership from CAD concept through to installation and testing.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor required.
• Mechanical Engineering qualification (degree/HNC/HND or apprenticeship) preferred.
• Hands-on engineering experience is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Produce GA, fabrication and component drawings using AutoCAD/Inventor.
• Assist with hands-on mechanical fitting, QC, operations and assembly on the shop floor.
• Conduct precise engineering surveys and measurements at client sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Use AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor to produce high-quality GA, fabrication, and component drawings for bespoke process machinery.
• Move from the screen to the shop floor to assist with hands-on mechanical fitting, quality control, operations, and equipment assembly.
• Attend client sites to conduct precise physical engineering surveys, take accurate measurements, and map out service routes.
• Play an active, practical role on-site during the physical installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of equipment.
• Maintain accurate engineering records, technical drawing revisions, and comprehensive compliance documentation.

What We Are Looking For

A qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Degree, HNC/HND, or Apprenticeship) paired with a couple of years of graduate or practical, hands-on engineering experience.

Proficiency in AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor, backed by a strong mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of fabrication processes.

A naturally curious, proactive team player who is genuinely excited to get their hands dirty with assembly and installation, rather than just sitting behind a desk.
