Job summary

Delve Recruitment is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a Leicester-based precision engineering business. The role is on-site and involves developing and optimising CNC and manual machining processes, defining tooling and routings, and supporting NPI and DFx activities.

You will lead continuous improvement, tackle quality and productivity challenges, and provide technical support to production teams in a high-precision machining environment.

Qualifications

• Min. 5 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a precision machining or machine shop.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining, turning, milling, grinding.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and tight tolerance components.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and optimise CNC and manual machining processes.
• Define tooling, fixtures, routings, work instructions and manufacturing standards.
• Support NPI and Design for Manufacture activities.
• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on quality, productivity, cost and safety.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and provide technical support to production.

Manufacturing complex precision-machined components for sectors including aerospace, defence and automotive, the business is investing in continuous improvement, new product introduction and manufacturing excellence. This is an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys improving machining processes and working closely with production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and optimise CNC and manual machining processes.
• Define tooling, fixtures, routings, work instructions and manufacturing standards.
• Support NPI and Design for Manufacture activities.

Skills & Experience:

• Min. 5 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within a precision machining or machine shop environment.

• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T and tight tolerance components.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, process improvement and problem solving methodologies.
• Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Production Engineering preferred.
