Job summary

Hales Group are seeking a Trainee CAD Technician in Letchworth Garden City to join on a permanent basis. You will produce accurate technical drawings and 3D CAD models, provide design support to the engineering team, and help manage customer enquiries and documentation.

This role offers 37.5 hours per week, a salary of £25,350–£27,300 DOE, and benefits including a pension, bonus scheme, and overtime opportunities as part of a respected precision engineering company.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate technical drawings and 3D CAD models in line with customer and project requirements.
• Provide CAD design support to the engineering team, assisting with the development and modification of technical drawings.
• Review and process customer enquiries, specifications, and technical requirements to support project delivery.
• Maintain and organise customer CAD files, drawings, and associated technical documentation.
• Accurately update and manage project, product, and customer information within the company's ERP system.
• Assist with the preparation of quotations, including material checks and basic cost analysis.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure technical information is communicated effectively and projects progress smoothly.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by ensuring drawing accuracy and maintaining up-to-date engineering records.

Our rapidly-growing client based in Letchworth Garden City are currently looking for a Trainee CAD Technician to join their team on a Permanent basis, with a view to grow & develop within their business. The successful candidate must be a hard working and driven individual, who is looking to excel within the Engineering industry.

Main duties as a Trainee CAD Technician:

• Produce accurate technical drawings and 3D CAD models in line with customer and project requirements.
