Metro Rod Coventry & Leicester is seeking a General Assistant to support our drainage engineers and tanker drivers. The role includes on‑the‑job training with a view to progression into an Engineer position within 6–12 months.

You will assist with cleaning, clearance, and maintenance of drains, ensuring top customer service and strict adherence to H&S and QA processes. A full clean UK driving licence and own vehicle are required.

• Keen interest in progressing within drainage with on‑the‑job training.

Responsibilities

Within the Waste & Water Services Division of Franchise Brands, is also Willow Pumps and Filta. Two expanding businesses that focus on sewage pumps and commercial kitchen solutions. Together, the brands provide a complete one-stop shop for keeping water and waste flowing.

We are seeking a General Assistant to support our Drainage Engineers and Tanker Drivers. This role will provide you with training in order to move into a Drainage Engineer position further down the line. This would ideally suit someone from a civils/ground working background. We will provide full training – working towards becoming an Engineer within 6-12 months.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• To support our Engineers in carrying out a range of services associated with the cleaning clearance, repair and maintenance of our customer’s drains
• To deliver an exceptional standard of customer service
• To ensure you work in accordance with H&S and Quality Assurance procedures
• Communicate effectively with clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent customer service is provided at all times

Ideal candidates will:

• Have a positive, flexible, can-do attitude

• Must be physically fit and able to work outdoors
• Have a keen interest and desire to progress within the drainage industry
• Be willing to work towards NVQ level 2 drainage or equivalent
