Job summary

Metro Rod Oxford in the Buckinghamshire area is seeking a Trainee Drainage Engineer to join our team. The role offers a £24,000–£27,000 basic salary, with on-call, overtime and benefits, and potential ETE £40-50K after training.

You will perform drainage cleaning, clearance, repair and maintenance, operate high-pressure jetting equipment, and record job details using internal systems. We support your development with training and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a hands-on technical/construction role.
• A keen interest in learning the drainage trade.
• Motivation to progress and develop yourself.
• Positive, flexible, can-do attitude.
• Willingness to work unsociable hours.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual work.
• Full UK driving licence and own transport.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out a range of services associated with the cleaning, clearance, repair, and maintenance of our customers’ drains
• Operation of High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment in line with rigorous safety standards
• Carrying out surveys
• Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise
• Accurately recording work/job details via a range of bespoke internal/client systems and apps
• Communicate effectively with high profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent customer service is always provided
• Being part of an on-call rota to help service our clients 24/7 / 365 days a year. This would be one week in four– variable according to the business needs
