Job description
Overview

The hourly rate for this role is £12.60 and up to £14.13 across selected locations within London. The hourly rate will increase after 6 months in role. No previous experience is required, and full training will be provided.

As a Trainee Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team as you support the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals in your store to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services. You will be based in the store healthcare department while you complete your Dispenser training (NVQ2). You will build strong relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs, greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, and providing medicines advice to support informed health choices. This is a role based in-store in the UK; remote applicants and candidates outside the UK will not be considered unless relevant UK qualifications and right to work can be confirmed and evidenced.

Key responsibilities
  • Complete your training for the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 programme
  • Dispense prescriptions while ensuring the safe supply of medicines (ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collection of prescriptions)
  • Work with other healthcare professionals in your store to support management and delivery of pharmacy services
  • Provide care and advice to patients about medicines and refer queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support the safe and legal dispensing of prescriptions
  • Keep up to date with new innovations in store and comply with operational processes
  • Help patients manage their prescriptions with reliable repeats and effective medicine management to promote adherence and reduce waste

Working with evolving technologies within store, you will have the opportunity to work with new systems to develop dispensing processes for improved patient safety and to allow more time with patients. You will receive regular updates and training to develop your healthcare knowledge, plus career development options including potential to train as a Pharmacy Technician or as part of the store leadership team.

What you’ll need to have
  • Desire to learn and complete the Dispenser training programme (NVQ2)
