Job summary

Medstrom Ltd. is seeking a Trainee Decontamination Technician to join our Oxfordshire team, based at the Thame service centre. You will help clean, test and prepare beds and mattresses for customers, supporting our in-house technicians.

You will follow quality processes, learn electrical safety testing, manage small parts inventories, and contribute to timely service delivery for customers across Oxfordshire.

Qualifications

• Basic hygiene and safety knowledge (advantage).
• Basic PC skills including email/MS Office.
• Full driving licence is advantage, site-based role.
• Electrical safety testing qualification is desirable; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, test, and repair products (beds and mattresses).
• Maintain inventory of products and spare parts.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external quality processes.
• Meet daily product preparation targets.
• Provide timely service to in-field technicians.
• Record electrical safety testing on products (training provided).
• Complete tasks in the laundry (booking, drying, inspection).
• Update IT systems and maintain workplace cleanliness.
• Complete daily/weekly activity reports.

We’re now looking for a Trainee Decontamination Technician to join our Oxford team on a full-time, permanent basis, working at our Thame service centre.

Your Role:

As a Trainee Decontamination Technician, you will clean, maintain, and support the delivery of our products to customers throughout Oxfordshire, based within our service centre in Thame.

Whilst adhering to established quality processes, you’ll clean and test products, ensuring they are ready for use, and providing a high level of service to our internal technicians who will install products at customer sites.

Specifically, you will be:

• Cleaning, decontaminating, testing, and repairing products (beds and mattresses) and making them ready for use
• Keeping an inventory of products and spare parts
• Ensuring compliance with quality processes, both internal and external
• Meeting daily product preparation targets
• Delivering a timely and appropriate service to in-field technicians
• Completing and recording electrical safety testing on products during tasks – you will be fully trained
• Completing tasks within the laundry (booking in, drying and inspection)
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the workplace
• Completing daily/weekly activity reports
• Updating relevant IT systems

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9.30am – 6pm

Experience Needed:

To be considered as a Product Cleaner, you will need:

• Basic knowledge of hygiene and safety rules would be an advantage, but is not essential
• Basic PC skills to include email and MS Office
• A full driving licence would be an advantage to support the wider team, but it is not essential as this role is site-based
• Electrical safety testing qualification or certificate would be equally desirable, but is not essential, as full training will be provided

• The ability to carry out manual duties (lifting, carrying and loading products)
