Job summary

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) in Bradford is seeking a Trainee Debt Advisor to join our Service Delivery team. You will undergo classroom training, exams and on-the-job sign-off to equip you to provide expert debt advice and support clients on their journey to becoming debt free.

The role starts with 8 weeks of intensive training at our Bradford offices, then a hybrid work model combining home and office.

Qualifications

• Numeracy skills and ability to analyse complex situations
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Confident with computer use and data entry
• Willingness to engage with CAP training and exams

Responsibilities

• Complete the Debt Advisor classroom training course
• Create client budgets from information gathered by local CAP staff
• Advise clients on options to become debt free and plan repayments
• Pass stages sign-offs for budget amendments and advice creation
• Liaise with CAP debt coaches regarding client cases
• Support and guide clients through the CAP debt help policy and procedures
