Job summary

Citizens Advice Somerset is recruiting two Trainee Money & Debt Specialists to join a supportive team in Somerset. You will receive the funded training to become a qualified Money & Debt Specialist, providing high-quality, impartial advice to clients facing financial difficulties.

The role offers a structured 12-month training programme, guidance from experienced debt caseworkers, mentoring, and potential hybrid working. Starting salary is £27,477 per annum with a 5% employer pension.

Qualifications

Demonstrate empathy, organisation and resilience while learning new skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service abilities.
Good IT skills with Word/Excel and detail-oriented record-keeping.

Responsibilities

Provide money and debt advice across a range of issues including debts and welfare benefits.
Support clients with housing, income maximisation and related financial matters.
Draft professional letters and communications to clients, creditors and third parties.
Prepare and present cases to relevant bodies and regulators as required.
Maintain accurate case records in line with regulatory requirements.
