Igne Group is seeking a Trainee Laboratory Technician to join its Construction Materials Testing Division in Daventry. This entry-level role offers practical, hands-on work testing soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt, with data entry and coordination with senior staff.

No prior experience required; a proactive mindset and ability to work in a team are valued as you gain skills in QA procedures and site testing standards.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Manual handling and physical activity are daily requirements.
• Self-motivated and able to organise own workload.
• Confidence in working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Testing various construction materials including soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt.
• Completion of test sheets and data entry onto tablets.
• Liaise with senior staff on work schedules and testing procedures.
• Work within in-house quality assurance systems.
• Maintain health and safety in line with company policies.
