Job summary

BRE Group in Watford is offering a Level 3 Materials Technician apprenticeship. You will support the laboratory team with mixing, preparing and testing concrete and construction materials, gaining hands-on experience and learning to use specialist equipment.

The role starts ASAP, offers starting salary £22,000 per year, 25 days annual leave, onsite parking, HealthShield medical plan, pension with employer matching, life assurance and BRE Academy access with progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Be 16 or over
• Not be in full‑time education
• Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
• Have the right to work in the UK
• Applicants should not already hold a Level 3, degree or higher qualification in a closely related subject, or have significant experience in the same field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, mix and cure concrete specimens in line with testing standards
• Carry out physical testing of concrete and other construction materials under supervision
• Use laboratory equipment and tools safely following training
• Record test results accurately and maintain clear documentation
• Support equipment checks, calibration and basic maintenance
• Follow health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and safe manual handling
• Work alongside experienced technicians and engineers while completing your apprenticeship qualification
