Job summary

South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is hiring Trainee Childrens Wellbeing Practitioners. You will deliver evidence-based low-intensity therapies to children and young people in CYPMHS across Sunderland, South Tyneside or Gateshead.

Training begins January 2027 at Northumbria University, with employment starting January 2027. The role requires a degree, willingness to undertake the Postgraduate Diploma, and experience supporting child and family mental health in community settings.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level.
• Willingness to undertake and complete training.
• Experience supporting the mental health needs of children and young people.
• Ability to engage underserved populations.
• Experience working in community settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver low intensity psychological interventions.
• Provide group work for parents, children and young people.
• Work within CYPMHS across Sunderland, South Tyneside or Gateshead.
• Attend supervision and complete training within 12 months.
• Meet service targets and work flexibly in various environments.
