Job summary

South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Trainee Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to work with children and young people across CYPMHS in South Tyneside, Sunderland or Gateshead.

The role involves delivering NICE-recommended CBT interventions, undertaking a CBT-PG Diploma in Evidence Based Psychological Therapy within 12 months, and gaining essential supervision while contributing to service development. January 2027 start is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a children and young peoples mental health service.
• Experience of assessments and treatments to children, young people and their families.
• Experience of working within the community or education setting.
• Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and welfare in children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Deliver CBT psychological interventions in CYPMHS as part of training capacity.
• Participate in regular supervision and professional development.
• Work with children, young people and families from diverse backgrounds in a multidisciplinary team.
