Job summary

NHS Jobs is recruiting for a Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner in SOUTH SHIELDS. The post supports the Children and Young People’s mental health service, delivering Low Intensity CBT to children and young people and running group work for families.

You will train on the Postgraduate Diploma in Children Wellbeing Practitioner at Northumbria University and aim to complete it within 12 months, while working to service targets and engaging with diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Work with children and young people with a range of common mental health problems in a training capacity.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions (Low Intensity CBT) and group work to parents, children and young people.
• Be committed to providing equal opportunities and work with diverse communities, using interpreters when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based group work interventions to parents, children and young people.
• Deliver Low Intensity CBT as part of clinical training and meet service targets.
• Collaborate with CYPMHS teams and participate in training towards the Diploma within 12 months.

Summary

For the post holder to work as a member of the Children and Young peoples mental Health Service (CYPMHS). For the post holder to be part of one of the localities of Sunderland South Tyneside or Gateshead. To be identified on appointment. For the post holder to work with children and young people who have a range of common mental health problems in a training capacity. For the post holder to use evidence-based interventions as per clinical training (Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), to deliver evidence-based group work interventions to parents, children and young people, and deliver training. For the post holder to work with children and young people from different cultural backgrounds and underserved populations, using interpreters when necessary and be committed to providing equal opportunities. For the post holder to meet targets that are set within the service. For the post holder to successfully undertake training on the Postgraduate Diploma in Children Wellbeing Practitioner course at Northumbria University and complete it within 12 months.
