Job summary

Dalkia is seeking a Building Fabric Maintenance Operative Trainee to join our Sizewell B team. This fixed-term contract offers hands-on learning with a clear path to an apprenticeship in September 2027.

You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople, gaining practical skills across a wide range of building maintenance activities, while emphasising safety and teamwork. Prior experience is not required; attitude and willingness to learn are key.

Are you practical, enthusiastic and keen to learn a skilled trade?

Dalkia is looking for a Building Fabric Maintenance Operative Trainee to join our team at Sizewell B. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands‑on experience in a professional engineering environment, with the potential to progress onto a Building Fabric Maintenance apprenticeship in September 2027.

You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople, developing practical skills across a wide range of building maintenance activities. No previous experience in all of these areas is expected – we're looking for someone with the right attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to working safely.

What You'll Learn And Do

As a Trainee, you'll gain experience in areas including:

• General building and civils maintenance
• Dry lining and stud partitioning
• Tiling and floor coverings
• Minor roof repairs
• Grounds maintenance
• Basic plumbing
• Shuttering and concrete work
• Minor painting and general building repairs
• Supporting experienced tradespeople across the site

You'll also help maintain a range of important facilities, including the training centre, visitor centre and administrative buildings.
