Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Building Fabric Maintenance Engineer in the UK to support statutory and mandatory maintenance across a client site. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and assist with minor works while ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires an apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 Building Fabric, plus practical maintenance experience and CMMS/Microsoft Office proficiency. 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30, paying £15,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 Building Fabric or equivalent
• Experience in practical engineering and building fabric maintenance
• Experience working independently in a technical maintenance environment
• Strong Health & Safety knowledge and safe systems of work
• Experience using CMMS and Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs within your technical capability
• Complete routine planned and reactive building fabric maintenance
• Ensure systems and assets comply with regulations and best practices
• Carry out like-for-like asset replacements and minor new works
• Build positive relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders
• Guide and support apprentices as needed
• Prioritise own workload to meet deadlines
• Follow safety procedures and company processes
• Consider cost, efficiency and sustainability in tasks
• Complete helpdesk requests and maintenance records

Job Introduction

We are looking for a skilled Building Fabric Maintenance Engineer to support the delivery of statutory, legislative and mandatory building fabric maintenance across a client site.

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, complete repairs and support minor new works, ensuring all work is completed safely and to the required standards.

What you’ll do:

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs within your technical capability.
• Complete routine planned and reactive building fabric maintenance.
• Ensure systems and assets are maintained in line with relevant regulations and best practice.
• Carry out like-for-like asset replacements and minor new works.
• Build positive and professional relationships with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders.
• Guide and support apprentices where required.
• Manage and prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines.
• Follow safe systems of work, Health & Safety procedures and company processes.
• Consider cost, efficiency and sustainability when carrying out tasks.
• Complete relevant helpdesk requests and maintenance records.

What you bring:

• A completed apprenticeship.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Building Fabric, or a mature route.
• Practical engineering and building fabric maintenance experience.
• Experience working independently in a technical maintenance environment.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe systems of work.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Ability to plan and manage your workload effectively.
• Understanding of helpdesk procedures and workflows.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
