Job summary

ProTalent Limited is recruiting a Trainee Accountant in Crowborough, East Sussex. You will handle accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, bookkeeping and VAT, and assist with personal and corporate tax returns.

You’ll work with cloud accounting software and engage with clients on day-to-day queries, supported by experienced staff as you progress toward professional qualifications.

Qualifications

• Some accounting or practice experience is preferred.
• Studying towards AAT or ready to start.

Trainee Accountant | Crowborough, East Sussex | £25,000 – £28,000 | Full Study Support

A well-established independent practice in Crowborough is looking for a Trainee Accountant to join their team. They have been going since 2012 and look after sole traders and owner-managed businesses across a real spread of sectors, from construction and manufacturing to marketing and consultancy. That variety matters when you are learning. You see far more in your first two years here than you would sitting in one industry.

This is a proper training role rather than a data entry job with a training label on it. You will be given real client work early, with senior accountants and the directors close enough to ask when you get stuck.

What you'll be doing:

• Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Bookkeeping and VAT returns
• Assisting with personal and corporate tax returns
• Working across cloud accounting software
• Speaking with clients and handling day-to-day queries

What they're looking for:

• Some accounting or practice experience, even a year of it
• Studying towards AAT, or ready to start
• Someone local to Crowborough or the surrounding villages
• Keen to learn, happy to ask questions, comfortable picking up the phone
