Job summary

ProTalent Limited in Eastbourne is seeking a Trainee or Semi-Senior Accountant to join our independent practice. You will work across accounts, personal and corporate tax, and bookkeeping, with full study support provided to complete qualifications.

The role requires around 18 months in a UK practice and offers immediate start in a full-time, office-based position in Eastbourne town centre. Training from senior staff and client contact from day one are included.

Qualifications

• AAT qualification or part qualification, or early in ACCA/ACA.
• Willing to study with full study support.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Self assessment and corporation tax returns.
• Monthly and quarterly bookkeeping, management accounts and VAT returns.
• Use Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and Excel.
• Interact with clients to answer day-to-day queries.
• Assist in reviewing work as you progress.

Trainee / Semi-Senior Accountant | Eastbourne | From £26,000 | Full study support

Most trainee roles give you one corner of the job. This one gives you the whole thing.

An independent accountancy practice in Eastbourne is looking for a Trainee or Semi-Senior Accountant to join their team. You'd be working across accounts, personal and corporate tax, and bookkeeping, rather than sitting on one client type for two years. They'll fund your studies and give you the time to do them properly.

This isn't a first job in practice. You'll need around 18 months behind you, so you already know your way around a set of accounts and a tax return. What it is, is the role where you go from doing the work to owning it.

What you'll be doing:

• Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Self assessment and corporation tax returns
• Monthly and quarterly bookkeeping, management accounts and VAT returns
• Working across Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and Excel
• Speaking to clients yourself on day to day queries
• As you progress, checking work from the more junior members of the team

Who it suits:

• AAT qualified or part qualified, or early in ACCA or ACA
• Around 18 months or more in a UK accountancy practice
• Comfortable getting a job to partner review standard without being walked through every step
• Someone who wants a broad grounding rather than an early specialism
