Job summary

ProTalent is seeking a Trainee Accountant for a well-established independent practice in Crowborough, East Sussex. The role offers real client work early, with senior accountants close by to guide you through your qualification journey.

You'll prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, handle bookkeeping and VAT, and assist with personal and corporate tax returns. Full study support toward AAT is provided, with a clear route to ACA/ACCA.

Qualifications

• Some accounting or practice experience, even a year of it.
• Studying towards AAT, or ready to start.
• Someone local to Crowborough or the surrounding villages.
• Keen to learn, happy to ask questions, comfortable picking up the phone.

Responsibilities

• Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Bookkeeping and VAT returns
• Assisting with personal and corporate tax returns
• Working across cloud accounting software
• Speaking with clients and handling day-to-day queries
