Traffic Office Administrator

Location: Preston VOC, PR2 9GG

Job type: Permanent contract

Hours: 40.00 hours per week, working 3.5 days across Mon-Sun, including public bank holidays, working nights between 18:30 and 07:00

The Traffic Office Administrator is a vital role at Preston VOC, supporting a safe, efficient, and cost-effective fleet. You will need to:

  1. Ensure the Distribution Management System is kept up to date with correct daily data input, and all drivers are de-briefed at the end of their duty.
  2. Ensure that Isotrak, Business Asset Tracker, and Vision FTA systems are maintained and data correctly input daily to comply with European legislation.
  3. Issue vehicle keys and logbooks in line with Royal Mail standards.
  4. Ensure digital tachograph cards are downloaded according to Royal Mail policy.
  5. Carry out daily debriefs with all drivers, passing unresolved issues to the shift manager.
  6. Ensure planned vehicle maintenance is carried out, and records are kept up to date.
  7. Perform additional admin duties as required.
About you
  • Organised, independent, and self-motivated.
  • Knowledge of safety and legal requirements, including drivers' hours legislation, vehicle checks, risk assessments, and accident investigation.
  • Industry experience and knowledge of mail and parcel operations preferred.
  • Computer literate with good numeracy and literacy skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Able to input data within deadlines while maintaining confidentiality.
