East Suffolk Services is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the Trade Waste team in Lowestoft. You will drive commercially successful waste and recycling services, manage staff and resources, and ensure service delivery meets contractual obligations while maintaining customer satisfaction.

The role emphasizes leadership, budgeting, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on continuous improvement and business growth within a local council environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in waste, recycling or environmental services is preferred.
• Commercial or operational management experience desired.
• Good understanding of environmental and health & safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Trade Waste team to deliver safe, compliant services.
• Ensure delivery of services in line with legislation and standards.
• Oversee staff development, recruitment, inductions and performance management.
• Manage customer enquiries and complaints and drive service improvements.
