Job summary

Sanctuary Group in Glasgow is seeking a Trade Operative – Groundworker to join our Day-to-Day Repairs Team across Central and West Scotland. You will perform groundworks and external repairs across our properties, with a company van, tools and equipment provided to support success.

We offer 40 hours per week, £34,205 - £36,006 per year, and a diverse benefits package including 25 days leave, pension, Life Assurance, and wellbeing services.

Qualifications

• CDM 2015 qualification to SVQ Level 2 or higher is required.
• Experience with garden drainage.
• Full UK driving licence required to drive company vehicle.
• Good communication and customer care skills.
• Recent experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out a wide range of groundworks and external repairs, including paving, kerbing, concreting, fencing, drainage, and reinstatement works.
• Delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services across occupied and void properties, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocked when needed.
• Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer

Trade Operative – Groundworker

40 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 16:30pm

We're looking for a skilled Trade Operative - Groundworker to join our Day-to-Day Repairs Team based in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a diverse housing portfolio throughout Central and West Scotland, helping to keep our homes, estates, and surrounding environments safe, functional, and well maintained.

Working both independently and as part of a wider team, you'll carry out a variety of groundworks, external repairs, and maintenance activities across our properties. From repairing pathways and boundary fences to drainage works and reinstatements, no two days will be the same. With a company van, tools, and equipment provided, you'll have everything you need to succeed in the role.

The role ofTrade Operative– Joiner will include:

• Carrying out a wide range of groundworks and external repairs, including paving, kerbing, concreting, fencing, drainage, and reinstatement works
• Delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services across occupied and void properties, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed

• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with CDM 2015 legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified toSVQ Level 2 in a core subject or currently undertaking the qualification. If you have a lower-level qualification along with practical experience and would be prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group, we would still welcome an application
• Experience with garden drainage
• CPCS or NPORS certification would be beneficial
• Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
• Good communication and customer care skills
• Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
• This role will involve driving on company business. To drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
