Job summary

EH Smith Group is seeking a Trade Counter Sales Negotiator for our Shirley branch to deliver excellent customer service to trade and retail customers. You will build relationships with local builders and suppliers while selling heavyside building materials where possible.

You will manage cash sales, use the PC to process transactions, and help identify new sales opportunities in a busy trade counter environment.

Qualifications

• The candidate has excellent communication skills and customer service experience.
• Experience selling heavyside building materials is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to build relationships with local builders, contractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Sell building materials to trade and retail customers profitably.
• Manage cash sale business and process transactions.
• Identify new sales opportunities and follow up on quotes.
• Maintain counter stock and assist with stock takes.
• Ensure the highest standard of service to customers.

An exciting opportunity for a Trade Counter Sales Negotiator has become available at our Shirley branch. We require an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who can provide excellent customer service skills to our trade and retail customers.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and ideally will have proven experience selling heavyside building materials although this is not essential. The ability to build relationships with employees, local builders, contractors and suppliers is key to the role.

Tasks

• Selling building materials profitably to trade and retail
• Responsibility for the cash sale business
• Awareness of new sales opportunities
• Effective use of PC to organise transactions
• Acquiring quotes, following up and achieving orders
• Counter stock maintenance / assisting with stock take preparation
• Ensure highest standard of service to the customer

Person & Skills
