Job summary

JDP’s Fareham branch is seeking an experienced Trade Counter Sales Person to serve customers face-to-face, give expert product advice and drive sales. You’ll be at the heart of the branch, handling inquiries, processing quotes and orders, and helping to keep the branch running smoothly.

You’ll excel at building relationships with trade customers, spotting upsell opportunities and working closely with a small team to deliver outstanding service every day.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing sales experience preferred.
• Ability to build relationships with trade customers.
• Good product knowledge and advice.
• Comfort handling inquiries by phone, email and in person.

We're looking for an experienced Trade Counter Sales Person to join our successful Fareham branch.

This is not a role where you'll be hidden behind a desk. You'll be at the heart of the branch, serving customers face-to-face, handling enquiries, driving sales growth and helping to keep the branch running smoothly. What You’ll Be Doing

As one of the key people in our branch, you'll be:

• Serving trade and retail customers at the counter, providing knowledgeable advice and excellent service.
• Building strong relationships with existing customers and developing new business opportunities.
• Handling customer enquiries by phone, email and in person.
• Processing quotes and orders accurately and efficiently.
• Identifying opportunities to upsell and promote products and branch initiatives.
• Supporting the day-to-day operation of the branch.
• Working closely with colleagues to ensure customers receive outstanding service every time they visit.

You’ll be someone who:

• Enjoys dealing with customers and solving problems.
• Has confidence speaking with tradespeople and contractors in branch and on the phone.
• Understands the importance of product knowledge and customer relationships.
• Is commercially minded and enjoys identifying sales opportunities.
• Takes ownership and works well in a small team.
• Isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves and help wherever needed.
