Job summary

Zoom Recruitment is seeking a Trade Counter Assistant for a busy customer-facing team in Orpington, UK. You will provide an efficient counter service, handle enquiries, process sales and help customers with product knowledge and delivery requirements.

You will serve customers at the counter and on the phone, manage orders, returns and collections, and work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries while keeping stock and showroom areas well presented.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing sales or trade counter environment.
• Confident face-to-face and telephone communication.
• Accurate, organised with strong attention to detail.
• Able to identify sales opportunities.
• Willing to develop product knowledge and undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers at the trade counter and handling telephone enquiries
• Processing sales orders accurately and efficiently
• Advising customers on products, availability and delivery requirements
• Developing strong knowledge of products and identifying suitable alternatives
• Managing customer collections, returns and order amendments
• Monitoring outstanding and back-ordered items and keeping customers updated
• Maintaining accurate cash and card transactions
• Ensuring the showroom, trade counter and sample areas are well presented and fully stocked
• Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to resolve customer queries and delivery requirements
• Following company procedures relating to pricing, discounts, customer data and order processing
• Maintaining a professional telephone manner and consistently high standards of customer service

Are you a customer-focused sales professional with experience working in a trade counter, showroom or similar environment?

We're currently recruiting for a Trade Counter Assistant to join a busy customer-facing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, processing sales and developing strong product knowledge.

Responsibilities:

You'll be responsible for providing an efficient and professional trade counter service, ensuring customers receive excellent service from enquiry through to order and collection/delivery.
