Indespension is seeking a Towbar Fitter and Service Technician at the Gatwick Branch in Crawley. The role involves fitting towbars and servicing trailers, while upholding health and safety, and contributing to branch sales targets.

The successful candidate will have vehicle mechanics or electrical experience, towbar fitting knowledge, a full driving licence, and a proactive, communicative approach. Salary is £30,000 plus a bonus scheme, with 32 days holiday and pension.

Qualifications

• Experience in vehicle mechanics and/or electrical work.
• Towbar fitting experience is advantageous.
• Proactive, motivated candidate with good communication.
• Must hold a full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Fit towbars to customer vehicles.
• Keep up to date with wiring and fitting instructions.
• Ascertain faults and provide technical advice.
• Service and repair the Company's fleet of hire trailers.
• Maintain and update records of each trailer in the hire fleet.
• Assemble and modify trailers as required.
• Ensure all fits/repairs are completed in good time and quality.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and safety compliance.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good order.
• Follow Health & Safety policy and wear PPE as required.

Towbar Fitter/Service Technician

Location: Gatwick Branch, Crawley, RH11 0PS

Salary: £30,000 per annum, plus Bonus scheme

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Hours 8.30am-5pm Mon-Fri

Indespension is a leading manufacturer of trailers offering a complete service including sales of new and used trailers, a full range of parts and towing accessories for most makes of trailer, trailer servicing and repair and a towbar fitting service.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Towbar Fitter and Service Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be required to fit towbars and service trailers while practising good housekeeping and operating within the Health and Safety Regulations. The candidate will work within the Branch Team to achieve sales/margin targets.

Responsibilities include:-

• Fit towbars to customer vehicles taking care all times to handle customer's property with due respect;

• Keep up to date with any changes to suppliers' towbar fitting instructions including wiring;
• Ascertain faults and provide technical advice as required;
• Service and repair the Company's fleet of hire trailers to an agreed schedule;
• Maintain and update full records of each trailer in the Company hire fleet for servicing purposes;
• Assemble and modify trailers as required;
• Ensure all towbar fits and trailer services/repairs are completed in an acceptable timeframe and quality to the Company and customer;
• Undertake daily duties as designated by the Branch Team and Workshop Diary;
• Ensure that the workshop is clean and tidy at all times;
• Maintain tools/equipment in good working order;
• Operate within the Health & Safety Policy of the Company and ensure personal protective equipment is worn as required;

The Candidate:-

• Previous experience of vehicle mechanics and/or electrics;
• Previous experience of towbar fitting would be advantageous;
• Proactive individual with the motivation to succeed;
• Excellent communication skills;
• A full clean driving licence;
