Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd is recruiting a Towbar & Trailer Technician for their Cardiff branch to join a leading automotive aftermarket team.

You will fit towbars, service hire trailers, assemble and modify trailers, and maintain fleet records, with training provided for those strong in vehicle knowledge.

This role offers a competitive salary up to £30,000, a monthly performance bonus, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, a pension, and a Monday–Friday schedule (37.5 hours) with no weekend work.

Qualifications

• Experience working with towbars and trailers is advantageous.
• Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with electrical components are desirable.
• Reliable and detail-oriented with good customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Fit towbars to customer vehicles, ensuring all marks or scratches are recorded prior to installation
• Service and repair the company's fleet of hire trailers according to schedule
• Assemble and modify trailers as needed to meet customer requirements
• Maintain accurate records of trailers within the hire fleet
• Keep up to date with supplier instructions regarding wiring and fitting processes
• Report any vehicle damage or issues immediately to the Branch Manager
• Operate within health and safety guidelines
• Work collaboratively within the branch team to achieve sales and margin targets
• Ensure excellent housekeeping and adherence to health and safety regulations at all times

Requirements

• Live within a reasonable commuting distance of Cardiff
• Full valid UK driving licence with minimal points
• Prior experience working with vehicle towbars and trailers is advantageous
• Mechanical knowledge and electrical component familiarity are desirable
• Training will be provided for Technicians with strong vehicle knowledge but limited towbar fitting experience
• Reliable and detail-oriented with good customer service skills
