Job Description

The Assistant Buyer plays a key role within the Buying Team. The role involves developing product and building fashion-forward, commercial ranges that meet sales and margin targets. You will work closely with your Buyer, Design, Technical, Merchandising teams, Suppliers, or Brands to develop a range loved by our fashion-conscious 20-something customer.

What you'll be doing

1. Supporting the Buyer in sourcing and developing products
2. Overseeing fitting and sealing of samples
3. Building a relevant, fashion-forward range with constant newness
4. Building relationships with suppliers for negotiations on costs and delivery
5. Trading within the season to maximize sales and profits
6. Contributing to department strategy with data-supported insights
7. Influencing sales performance using company levers
8. Collaborating with Design and Merchandising to analyze sales and build the range
9. Monitoring global competitors and presenting findings
10. Presenting in the Buyer's absence and managing critical path risks
11. Working with Sourcing and Technical teams on sourcing and ethical considerations
12. Training and developing Buyers Administrators

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who:

1. Has experience as an Assistant Buyer in Menswear within a fast-paced retailer or brand
2. Is passionate about fashion and product
3. Understands 20-something culture and trends
4. Is organized, proactive, and able to work under pressure
5. Has keen attention to detail
6. Can build strong relationships with teams and suppliers
