Job summary

Kenect Recruitment is seeking a Tool Hire Assistant for a temporary contract in Glasgow. You’ll be the first contact for customers at the trade counter, helping them choose the right tools and arranging hire agreements, delivering friendly, professional service from start to finish.

The role covers counter service, handling inquiries, preparing quotes, coordinating collections/returns, and supporting the Branch Manager.

Qualifications

• Friendly, approachable and enjoys helping customers.
• Naturally builds relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Confident communicating face-to-face and over the phone.
• Able to learn new systems, products and processes quickly.
• Organised and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
• Strong attention to detail with hire contracts and admin tasks.
• Interest in tools or mechanical products; driving licence is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers at the trade counter and help them select tools and equipment.
• Handle customer enquiries in person and by phone.
• Prepare quotes and process hire agreements.
• Organise collections and returns of equipment.
• Carry out administrative duties related to the hire process.
• Ensure equipment is available, prepared and presented to standard.
• Support the Branch Manager with daily Tool Hire Centre operations.
• Assist with deliveries and collections when required, especially busy periods.
