Job summary

BSS Industrial is a leading distributor of heating, pipeline, process and mechanical services equipment across the UK. The Tool Hire Assistant role involves helping customers select the right tools, preparing hire agreements and supporting daily operations of the Tool Hire Centre.

You’ll be the first point of contact for customers, providing friendly, professional service and coordinating equipment collections and deliveries as needed.

Qualifications

• Friendly, approachable and genuinely enjoy helping customers.
• Able to learn new systems, products and processes quickly.
• Organised and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
• Interest in tools, equipment or mechanical products, with some mechanical knowledge advantageous.
• Team player who can take responsibility for own workload.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers at the trade counter and help them select the right tools and equipment.
• Deal with customer enquiries face-to-face and over the telephone.
• Prepare quotes and process hire agreements.
• Organise and coordinate equipment collections and returns.
• Carry out administrative duties related to the hire process.
• Ensure hired equipment is available, prepared and presented to standard.
• Support the Branch Manager with day-to-day operations.
• Assist with deliveries and collections during busy periods.
