Job summary

Jewson Honiton is seeking a proactive Tool Hire Assistant to ensure customers receive safe, well-maintained equipment and excellent service. You will drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver and collect orders, with a full UK driving licence required. Monday–Friday with every other Saturday work is part of the role.

You’ll build relationships with customers, support the team, and help with pre-delivery checks, loading, and basic repairs to keep tools ready for use.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience in tool hire preferred.
• Willingness to work every other Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day tool hire activities and deploy resources for safe operations.
• Build strong relationships through regular customer interaction and cross-selling.
• Deliver and collect customer orders accurately and safely, loading/unloading per procedures.
• Support branch colleagues in tool hire knowledge and competence.
• Conduct pre-delivery checks to ensure tools are clean, safe, and operational.
• Complete delivery paperwork and record keeping.
• Inspect, test and carry out basic repairs on tools and small plant.
