Job summary

Jewson in Winchester is recruiting a Tool Hire Assistant to join our busy branch. You will ensure customers receive safe, well-maintained equipment and friendly service while supporting daily tool hire operations.

No previous experience required; a full UK driving licence is essential to deliver and collect orders. You will be part of a friendly team with opportunities to grow.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day tool hire activities, deploying resources to ensure safe, efficient and safe operations.
• Lead by example in developing strong relationships through regular customer interaction and cross-selling.
• Deliver and collect customer orders promptly, ensuring accuracy and that equipment is secured and loaded/offloaded safely.
• Support branch colleagues in building knowledge and competence in tool hire products.
• Conduct pre-delivery checks to ensure tools and machinery are clean, safe, and fully operational.
• Complete all relevant delivery paperwork and record keeping.
• Inspect, test, and carry out basic repairs on tools and small plant.

Jewson are recruiting for a Tool Hire Assistant to join the successful and supportive team at our Winchester branch.

As a Tool Hire Assistant at Jewson , you will play a key role in ensuring
customers receive safe, well-maintained equipment and excellent service.

No experiencerequired, full training provided!

As part of the role, you will** be required to drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver and collect customer orders, so a full UK driving licence is essential. **

What you’ll be doing:

• Deliver day-to-day tool hire activities, deploying resource to ensure efficient,effectiveand safe operations

• Lead by example in developing strong relationships through regular customer interaction, supporting the team to maximise growth through pro-active cross selling

• Deliver and collect customer ordersin a timely manner, ensuring orders areaccurateand all equipment is secured and loaded/offloaded safelyin accordance withcompany procedures

• Support branch colleagues in building knowledge and competence in tool hire product

• Conduct pre-delivery checks to ensure tools and machinery are clean, safe, and fully operational

• Complete all relevant delivery paperwork and record keeping

• Inspect, test, and carry out basic repairs on a range of tools and small plant (e.g., breakers, saws, mixers, access equipment)

Working Hours:

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 07:00-16:30 or 7:30-17:00 , with the requirement of working every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00.
