Job summary

Jewson, part of Stark UK, is seeking a committed Tool Hire Assistant to ensure customers receive safe, well-maintained equipment and excellent service. You will drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver and collect orders, so a full UK driving licence is essential.

This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, with alternating Saturdays. You will support colleagues, perform pre-delivery checks, and help customers with tool hire knowledge while upholding our values of decency and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day tool hire activities and deploy resources safely.
• Develop relationships with customers and support growth through cross-selling.
• Deliver and collect orders promptly; ensure accuracy and safe loading of equipment.
• Assist branch colleagues with tool hire product knowledge.
• Conduct pre-delivery checks to keep tools clean, safe and operational.
• Complete delivery paperwork and record-keeping.
• Inspect, test and carry out basic repairs on tools and small plant.

As a Tool Hire Assistant at Jewson, you will play a key role in ensuring
customers receive safe, well-maintained equipment and excellent service.
As part of the role, you will be required to drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver and collect customer orders, so a full UK driving licence is essential.

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 07:00-16:30 or 7:30-17:00, with the requirement of working every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00.

WhatYou’ll Be Doing

• Deliver day-to-day tool hire activities, deploying resource to ensure efficient,effectiveand safe operations
• Lead by example in developing strong relationships through regular customer interaction, supporting the team to maximise growth through pro-active cross selling
• Deliver and collect customer ordersin a timely manner, ensuring orders areaccurateand all equipment is secured and loaded/offloaded safelyin accordance withcompany procedures
• Support branch colleagues in building knowledge and competence in tool hire product
• Conduct pre-delivery checks to ensure tools and machinery are clean, safe, and fully operational
• Complete all relevant delivery paperwork and record keeping
• Inspect, test, and carry out basic repairs on a range of tools and small plant (e.g., breakers, saws, mixers, access equipment)
