Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group is seeking a Tool and Die Design Engineer – Press tool – SolidWorks near Redditch. You will join the Process and Manufacturing Engineering teams, focusing on design and the best method of manufacture for sheet metal press tools.

The ideal candidate may have experience with SolidWorks and holds an HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, or a Toolmaking Apprenticeship with design experience. Commutable from Redditch and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in sheet metal press tool design.
• Proficient with SolidWorks.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, or Toolmaking Apprenticeship with design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design press tools and determine best methods of manufacture.
• Collaborate with Process and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
• Create and maintain tool design documentation and specifications.

Location: near Redditch
Hours: Monday to Thursday (7.30am - 4.30pm) Friday (7.30am - 12.30pm) - 39 hours per week

Overview:
With manufacturing facilities located across the UK, we now require a Press Tool Design Engineer to join the team. You will be part of the Process and Manufacturing Engineering teams with a key focus on design and best method of manufacture.
The ideal candidate / Tool and Die Design Engineer may have some of the following experiences, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

• Proven experience in sheet metal press tool design, with a distinct portfolio of small, high-precision components.
• Competent with Solidworks
• HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, OR a completed Toolmaking Apprenticeship paired with design experience

Commutable from:
Redditch, Alcester, Solihull, Bromsgrove, Coventry, Worcester, Birmingham and surrounding areas.
