Job summary

Mechanical Design Engineer - Die Design (Solidworks / press tool design) is a key vacancy near Redditch within the Nicholas Associates Group. The role focuses on sheet metal press tool design, with a strong emphasis on Solidworks and delivering high-precision tooling.

The candidate will join a busy manufacturing and engineering team, working during standard hours with a benefits package including bonus scheme and pension options. Commute from Redditch and surrounding areas is typical.

• Competent with Solidworks.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, OR a completed Toolmaking Apprenticeship paired with design experience.

Responsibilities

• Join the Manufacturing and Engineering team to focus on press tool design.
• Work on tooling and fixtures using Solidworks to meet production needs.
• Collaborate with engineers and machinists to optimise tool performance.

Location: near Redditch
Hours: Monday to Thursday (7.30am - 4.30pm) Friday (7.30am - 12.30pm) - 39 hours per week

Overview:

With manufacturing facilities located across the UK, we now require a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Manufacturing and Engineering team. You will part of a large engineering function of Manufacturing Engineers with a key focus on press tool design.

The ideal candidate / Mechanical Design Engineer - Die Design may have some of the following experiences, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

• Proven experience in sheet metal press tool design, with a distinct portfolio of small, high-precision components.
• Competent with Solidworks
• HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, OR a completed Toolmaking Apprenticeship paired with design experience

Commutable from:

Redditch, Alcester, Solihull, Bromsgrove, Coventry, Worcester, Birmingham and surrounding areas.
