Job summary

Nicholas Associates is seeking a Tool and Die Design Engineer to join our manufacturing team near Redditch. The role focuses on sheet metal press tool design with SolidWorks, delivering precise tooling solutions and ensuring manufacturability.

You will contribute to the design and development of press tooling, work within a process and manufacturing engineering environment, and be comfortable with high-precision components.

• Experience in sheet metal press tool design.
• Proficient with SolidWorks.
• HNC/HND or degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering, or a completed Toolmaking Apprenticeship paired with design experience

Hours: Monday to Thursday (7.30am - 4.30pm) Friday (7.30am - 12.30pm) - 39 hours per week

Overview:

With manufacturing facilities located across the UK, we now require a Press Tool Design Engineer to join the team. You will be part of the Process and Manufacturing Engineering teams with a key focus on design and best method of manufacture.

The ideal candidate / Tool and Die Design Engineer may have some of the following experiences, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

• Proven experience in sheet metal press tool design, with a distinct portfolio of small, high-precision components.
• Competent with Solidworks
• HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, OR a completed Toolmaking Apprenticeship paired with design experience

Commutable from:

Redditch, Alcester, Solihull, Bromsgrove, Coventry, Worcester, Birmingham and surrounding areas.
