Job summary

Compass Community Schools in London is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support children with SEMH and SEND. You will work with teachers in the classroom, deliver sessions with 1:1 or small groups and help manage resources and trips to ensure a safe, supportive environment.

The role requires resilience, flexibility and a non-judgmental approach. Extensive therapeutic training is provided as part of our trauma‑informed approach to achieve outstanding outcomes for every child.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH/SEND and challenging behaviours.
• Ability to adapt communication and approach to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in the classroom.
• Work with children 1:1 or in small groups.
• Manage classroom resources.
• Take children on trips and visits.
• Manage heightened behaviours and keep children safe.
• Participate in therapy sessions or reflect on difficult periods.
