Job summary

Compass Community Schools is seeking an HLTA to support children with SEMH and other needs. You will work closely with teachers, deliver small-group and 1:1 sessions, manage resources, and help create engaging learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting children with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs).
• Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teachers in the classroom.
• Working with children 1:1 or in small groups.
• Managing classroom resources.
• Taking children on trips and visits.
• Having lunch with children who may struggle socially.
• Managing heightened behaviours and keeping children safe.
• Playing board games and conducting science experiments.
• Creating displays and celebrating progress.
• Being part of therapy sessions or reflecting on difficult periods.
