Job summary

Compass Community Schools is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support learning for pupils with SEMH and SEND needs. You will work closely with teachers, deliver sessions 1:1 or in small groups, manage resources and accompany students on educational trips.

A resilient, flexible approach and strong communication are essential. We value your input in developing both academic curriculum and extracurricular activities, with extensive therapeutic training and a supportive supervision

Qualifications

• Good basic understanding of English and Maths.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning.
• Work with children 1:1 or in small groups.
• Manage classroom resources.
• Take children on educational trips and visits.
• Have lunch with children who struggle socially.
• Keep children safe with strong behaviour management and excellent communication.
• Create, play and teach games to develop social skills.
• Create displays to support teaching and learning.
