Job summary

Compass Community Schools is seeking Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEMH and SEND in a therapeutic, innovative environment. You will work 1:1 or in small groups, manage resources, and help create engaging learning experiences.

A non-judgemental, flexible approach is essential as pupils’ needs vary daily. Applicants should be resilient, communicative, and ready to participate in ongoing therapeutic training to support outstanding outcomes for every child.

Qualifications

• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication.
• Basic English and Maths understanding.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning.
• Work with children 1:1 or delivering sessions with small groups of students.
• Manage classroom resources.
• Take children on educational trips and visits.
• Have lunch with children who struggle socially.
• Have a good basic understanding of English and Maths.
• Keep children safe with strong behaviour management and great communication.
• Create, play and teach games to develop social skills or learning.
• Create amazing displays to support teaching and learning environment.
• Celebrate success.
• Participate in therapeutic training or reflection on difficult periods.
