Job summary

Academics in Birmingham is seeking motivated SEMH Teaching Assistants to support children and young people across Key Stage 3 and 4 in our specialised education schools.

The role involves providing 1-to-1 or small group support, helping pupils build confidence, and may include personal care tasks. You will work closely with the SENDCO and teachers to deliver tailored learning plans. Qualifications are not strictly required, but experience with children, SEND or SEMH is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Patience, compassion and a nurturing personality are essential.
• Qualifications and direct experience are not required for this role, but prior work with children or young people is advantageous.
• Experience in Early Years, SEND or SEMH is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1-to-1 or group support for students.
• Helping students gain confidence and interest in education.
• Assisting pupils with personal care needs when required.
