Job summary

Ty Trafle School in Swansea is seeking Learning Support Assistants (ASD or SEMH) to join a specialist team. You will support children with complex needs in small groups and 1:1 settings, building trusting relationships with pupils and families.

Experience in ASD or SEMH is welcomed but not essential; full training will be provided. A regulated activity role with Enhanced DBS Check is involved, with excellent wellbeing benefits and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) are valued.
• Experience in ASD, SEMH, or SEN is welcomed but not essential; full training will be provided.
• Strong communication skills and a calm approach; willing to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, delivery, and assessment of learning activities.
• Provide personalised support to pupils with ASD or SEMH in small groups and 1:1.
• Build nurturing relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
• Support daily routines and off-site enrichment activities.
• Promote emotional regulation and independent learning through therapeutic approaches.
• Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
