Job summary

TeacherActive in Swansea is looking for a calm and caring SEMH / Pupil Referral Teaching Assistant to support young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This long-term role offers the potential for job security and involves working closely with a dedicated team to help students achieve their best.

You will provide emotional support, build trust, and encourage personal growth while working on individual support plans. Competitive pay and a supportive environment are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months’ experience working with young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Experience within a PRU, Alternative Provision or SEND setting is highly desirable.
• A passion for helping students achieve their full potential — academically and personally.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH, Autism and behavioural challenges on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Build trust and provide emotional support to help learners re-engage with education.
• Work closely with teachers, mentors and behaviour leads to implement individual support plans.
