Job summary

New Forest Care is seeking a Children's Residential Support Worker to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children with challenging behaviours and emotional difficulties. You will be a consistent, compassionate role model and support young people to develop social and emotional well-being.

You will complete a funded Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare and gain experience in a therapeutic, child-centered setting.

Qualifications

• Funded Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare will be provided (if not already completed).
• Experience with vulnerable children in residential care is advantageous but not essential.
• Be compassionate, resilient and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
• Flexible rota including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Holds a valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Act as a positive adult role model for children in our residential homes.
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment to support and guide young people’s well‑being.
• Help children develop self‑esteem and personal strategies to handle behaviours.
• Support day‑to‑day home operations including cooking, cleaning and finances.
• Engage with children, develop interests and organise relevant activities.
• Ensure needs are met and review/record changes to those needs.
