Job summary

Horizon Care and Education in Salisbury is seeking a Children's Residential Support Worker to help young people in daily life within our homes, providing day-to-day care and a safe, therapeutic environment. You will support routines, hobbies, healthy meals and safeguarding, helping each young person reach their potential and participate in new opportunities.

Training and progression are offered, with a Level 3 qualification and a full UK driving licence required, and shifts may include evenings,

Qualifications

• Full UK Manual Driving licence is essential.
• Ability to be a great role model to looked after children.
• Ability to build trusting relationships.
• Genuine care and compassion to work with looked after children.
• Flexibility to work shifts including evenings and weekends and sleep ins.
• Willingness to complete a Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People Workforce.

Responsibilities

• Support young people in daily life within our homes, including hobbies and friendships.
• Provide day-to-day care and create a safe, homely, therapeutic environment.
• Assist with daily routines such as getting ready for school and meals.
• Ensure the young person has a safe space to relax and unwind.
• Support young people to reach their potential and opportunities.
• Collaborate with professionals and contribute to care planning.
