Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Residential Child Care Worker for a small therapeutic home in Fordingbridge, Hampshire. You will support children who have experienced trauma, providing a safe, structured environment to foster confidence, resilience, and independence.

You will work shifts including sleep-ins, weekends, and holidays, with funded training and progression toward Level 4/5 qualifications. A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or Health & Social Care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Aged 21 or over.
• Full, clean UK driving licence (home vehicle provided).
• Ability to work flexible shifts including sleep-ins, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong safeguarding commitment and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available).
• Experience supporting children or in Early Years settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Providing tailored emotional and practical support to meet individual needs.
• Acting as a positive role model and fostering trusting relationships.
• Supporting children during school runs, activities, and family contact sessions.
• Planning and participating in recreational, educational, and social activities.
• Assisting children in reaching developmental milestones.
• Maintaining household routines, including cooking, cleaning, and ensuring a warm environment.
• Completing daily records, reports, and health and safety checks.
• Working collaboratively with social workers, educators, and other professionals.
• Supporting shift patterns, including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.
