Job summary

North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 3 Theatre Support Worker in the Main Theatres Department at University Hospital North Tees. The role is 37.5 hours per week, full-time substantive, with enhanced disclosure checks.

You will support anaesthetic and surgical procedures, assist in theatre lists, and work within a multidisciplinary team under supervision, focusing on patient safety and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Level 3 vocational qualification in appropriate subject (or on pathway) or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Level 2 in English and Maths.
• NVQ Level 2 in Peri operative care or NVQ in Operating Department Support (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Trust policy and procedures governing health and safety in the workplace.
• Safe conveyance and movement of patients to and from theatres.
• Assist with preparation/positioning of patients and equipment for a theatre list.
• Be familiar with operating tables and their fittings.
• Assist in delivery of Pre, Peri and Postoperative care.
• Complete documentation in accordance with NMC standards.
• Infection prevention and control duties.
• Stocking of shelves and storage of equipment.
• Work as a member of the theatre team with supervision.
