Job summary

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital is seeking a Theatre Practitioner in Scrub and Anaesthetics for its bank/ad-hoc bank roster. You will support Consultants during procedures, work autonomously, and contribute to high standards of patient care within a state-of-the-art theatre environment.

The role offers opportunities to develop skills, collaborate with anaesthetists and surgical teams, and progress within a leading not-for-profit healthcare provider.

Responsibilities

• Work with leading consultants and like-minded professionals

• Supervise, support and develop junior members of staff
• Create high-quality care and patient experiences that are clinically effective and evidence based
• Ensure the safe administration of anaesthetics and monitor vital signs throughout surgical procedures
• Participate in maintaining a sterile operating environment and adhering to all safety protocols
• Collaborate closely with anaesthetists and surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and interact closely with colleagues on the ward

Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital The Exeter Nuffield hospital is based next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. The hospital has 2 theatres, as well as a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre and an Endoscopy suite. There are two ward areas: an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day-case ward with 12 beds. We also have a busy outpatient department, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and radiology department including an MRI scanner. We specialise in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology including invasive procedures, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology. The Hospital has a MAKO robot that undertakes some of the joint replacement surgery which we have become well known for in this field of surgery.
