Job summary

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital is seeking Theatre Practitioners to join our bank/ad hoc team. You will contribute to high standard orthopaedic theatre care in a busy hospital.

You will be a registered Theatre Nurse or ODP with orthopaedic scrub experience, bring excellent communication and teamwork, and be flexible to cover shifts as needed.

• Excellent communication and teamwork; flexible and motivated.
• NMC or HCPC registration required.

Responsibilities

• Work with leading consultants and like-minded professionals.
• Supervise and develop junior staff.
• Deliver high-quality care during anaesthetic and recovery phases of surgery.
• Collaborate with anaesthetists and surgical teams to prepare and monitor patients pre, during, and post-surgery.
• Interact well with ward colleagues to ensure continuity of patient care.

As a registered Theatre Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner, you’ll have the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC or HCPC. You’ll have post-registration experience in major orthopaedic scrub role, be an excellent communicator and team worker – flexible and motivated.

As a Theatre Practitioner Major Ortho Scrub, you will:

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital

The Exeter Nuffield hospital is based next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. The hospital has 2 theatres, as well as a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre and an Endoscopy suite. There are two ward areas: an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day-case ward with 12 beds. We also have a busy outpatient department, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and radiology department including an MRI scanner. We specialise in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology including invasive procedures, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology. The Hospital has a MAKO robot that undertakes some of the joint replacement surgery which we have become well known for in this field of surgery.
