Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Deputy Service Manager to support WCH theatres within the Critical Care, Anaesthetics and Theatres Collaborative. The role focuses on operational leadership, service improvements and maintaining safe, efficient care.

The post involves cross-site work, deputising for the Service Manager as required, HR staff management, and contributing to local and national performance targets.

Qualifications

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.
• Ability to manage HR issues including recruitment, appraisal and sickness absence.
• Proven capability to drive service development and improvements.
• Experience in coordinating across multi-site NHS settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager and Service Manager with operational management.
• Hold delegated responsibility for key areas of service delivery and performance.
• Support achievement of corporate and Collaborative objectives.
• Be flexible with shift patterns to meet service requirements across sites.
• Provide operational management for the Trust when required.
• Deputise for the Service Manager as designated.
• Ensure staff management and governance procedures are followed.
